“I’ve always been very proud to work for Midwest Perio. I’ve strived to help people understand their current oral health situation in a way which I’d like to be treated. It’s been an honor that my patients have allowed me to become a part of their lives. I’m fortunate to have helped so many people over the years.”
For 25 years, Val has been a hygienist at Midwest.
She grew up in Hot Springs, SD, but settled in Sioux Falls along with her husband of 29 years, three children, and a very spoiled dog. In her spare time, Val likes to read, work in her gardens, scrapbook, decorate and does many different crafts.
One of the fun summer activities she enjoys with her husband is driving around Sioux Falls trying to find the “perfect” ice cream cone.
“I love the one-on-one interaction with my patients. I’m honored that they trust me with their care.”
Jan’s been a hygienist at Midwest for over 22 years.
Jan and her husband have been married 33 years and have two daughters. Also, they raised a Leader Dog puppy, but after a “career change”, the dog came to live with them for 14 years. Jan keeps busy with gardening, reading, biking, spending time at the lake and making jewelry from vintage buttons. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her new grandson.
“I am committed to helping people learn proper oral health care and understanding periodontal disease and how it affects them.”
After working part-time as a hygienist for general dentists in Huron, S.D., Appleton, Wis., and then working for more than four years with a dentist in Watertown, S.D., JoLynn came to Midwest Periodontics in 2003.
She graduated from the dental hygiene program at North Dakota State College of Science with Associate of Science and Liberal Arts Associate degrees.
JoLynn stays busy with her ever-expanding family, including a new grandson and another grandbaby on the way. She and her husband like to spend time camping, boating, fishing, and walking. She is also active in her church.
